The aim was to evaluate the results of the funding call so far - among other things with regard to cross-cutting issues and transnational cooperation.

The now completed mid-term review of the geothermal projects funded in the first GEOTHERMICA Joint Call included all projects with a funding volume of more than two million euros. German partners were also involved in each of the four reviewed projects HEATSTOREZoDrExPERFORM and CAGE.

Representatives of the projects, the funding agencies and GEOTHERMICA as well as an independent expert came to a positive conclusion. According to Stephan Schreiber, who is responsible for the supervision of the German project partners at Project Management Jülich (PtJ), the GEOTHERMICA projects are a prime example of trans-European cooperation in research and development.
